CPOA is a non-profit organisation. It was founded initially to provide housing to those retirees who did not have the financial means to adequately care for themselves in their ‘golden years’. Today CPOA’s Welfare Commitment is still a very strong part of the company’s ethos and any surplus generated from the resale of life rights is directed towards funding Welfare Retirement facilities that CPOA still operate in the Western Cape.
In 1953 a group of volunteers had a vision to improve the quality of life for the elderly and CPOA was born. Over the years the organisation has grown and expanded and now owns and operates over 25 Retirement facilities and care centres where the active and not so active retiree can enjoy a safe and worry free retirement. Indeed with the years of experience and many different options to suit almost every pocket including many new, state of the art developments, CPOA is most certainly ‘The Retirement Specialist’ in the Western Cape.
Buying a Life Right with CPOA in essence means that you too are giving back to society, to those retirees and pensioners who cannot otherwise afford the basic dignities of daily life. Clean clothes and sheets, nourishing meals and a warm and caring place to call home and be looked after in the later years of their lives.
The proceeds CPOA receives from the re-sale of a life right directly secures the running of the welfare retirement homes the company operates. Nevertheless CPOA is still reliant on external sponsors and donations from covenants and bequests to fulfil the Welfare Commitment to the increasing number of South African State Pensioners in need.
